Stoop!

In this ego-captivated culture, many are called the GOAT or G.O.A.T. -The Greatest of All Time. High-paid athletes and notable celebrities receive accolades and applause of the culture as the "greatest of all time" mirage is played out in front of us every day. But Jesus, indeed the greatest of all time, quietly taught and exemplified stooping in his ministry.  The Son of God stooped a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death.

When a scuba diver is submerged in deep waters, it's difficult to tell which way is up because the water scatters the light, and he can't perceive the pull of gravity. He can quickly lose his sense of direction and be overwhelmed with confusion.

Symphony for a Broken Orchestra

On December 4, 2017, four hundred musicians gathered in the 23rd Street Armory of Philadelphia to perform "Symphony for a Broken Orchestra" by David Lang. It might have been the most diverse orchestra in America, including beginners, experts, and even members of the renowned Philadelphia Orchestra.

Hard Times and Hope Filled Lives

The little church I attended as a boy in East Tennessee could seat about a hundred people packed. The building was an old structure constructed in the mid-1800s with stained glass and hardwood benches that were surely built out of the gopher wood of Noah's ark.
